How to Prepare for an Audit

This workshop is for executive directors, accountants, or other individuals who are involved in the audit process.

Whether it’s your first or just the latest of many, audits can make any organization nervous. This workshop will discuss what you need to do to prepare for an audit and offer tips on getting the greatest benefit while keeping cost down. You will look at how to involve your board in the process, records and schedules for the audit, choosing an audit firm, soliciting and evaluating proposals, and ways to make sure the audit goes as smoothly as possible.

Through this workshop, participants will:
  • Develop a Request for Proposal and a related rating matrix for scoring incoming proposals from CPA firms
  • Develop a financial policies and procedures manual for your organization
  • Develop a knowledge of types of financial data to accumulate to prepare to support your organizations financial statement balances and amounts
