The Science of Social Change: How To Fund It and How To Sell It

During these uncertain times nonprofit organizations and the power of our social sector are needed more than ever!


Nonprofits are in the business of creating a better world. Social change is in our DNA. But in order to create the kinds of changes we work towards every day, nonprofits must be able to fund programs and sell stories. It's like chemistry: certain elements of strategy must be combined in order to create aformula for transformational progress. At this year's Bridge to Excellence conference, we invite you to investigate these elements and take action to become a social change scientist.

With this year's Bridge to Excellence theme, we challenge you to think differently and address the important elements and strategies that create a formula for transformational progress, including:

  • Next-generation philanthropy
  • Social change
  • Collaboration and collective impact
  • Mission vs. margin
  • Donor and development realities
  • Board fundraising and advocacy

As a part of the learning experience, participants will receive the book How the Poor Can Save Capitalism: Rebuilding the Path to the Middle Class (written by keynote speaker John Hope Bryant) as part of your registration.

Frist MatchGrants: Member organizations with budgets less than $300,000 may be eligible to receive a $50 discount on the early registration fee, reducing the cost to $125. This is limited to one person per organization and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Leadership Discount: CEOs, bring your board chair or another board member and receive both registrations for just $300. Special rate not eligible for MatchGrant funds.


Special Board Member Half-Day: Board members can attend breakfast, the keynote speaker and two breakout session for $85.Special rate not eligible for MatchGrant funds.

All cancellation requests must be received by CNM in writing by May 1, 2017. Upon cancellation, you will be issued a refund minus a $25 administration fee. Fees are non-refundable after that date.
