Join us at CNM for our Legislative Wrap Up workshop. Together with local experts, we will review the new pieces of legislation passed that are especially important for nonprofits, and what nonprofits can do to advocate for their causes.
The morning session will begin with expert Stewart Clifton of Clifton Government Relations to dive into a Legislative Review. Clifton will provide a session overview of what happened in Tennessee related to nonprofits, how many bills were passed, and key items in the budget.
Next, a bi-partisan panel will discuss key policy issues and the overall shift in politics that has occurred since the last election. There will be time for audience Q&A.Confirmed guests include:
- Senator Brenda Gilmore (D)
- Senator Jack Johnson (R)
- Representative Vincent Dixie (D)
- Representative Johnny Garrett (R)
But what happens next? What can nonprofits do to advocate for their mission at this point in the legislative process? Join Meredith Sullivan Benton of The Healing Trust to determine what actions to take next to create the biggest impact. Learn more about the rule-making process and how to engage in executive branch advocacy as the laws that just passed get implemented. There will be small group discussion for participants to discuss what steps they want to take, how to implement best practices, and to better understand how other nonprofits are taking action.
