Sallie Hussey, originally from Mississippi, has worked in the Nashville nonprofit sector for 20 years. She began her work at Fifty Forward, then became the executive director for CASA of Nashville, helping grow the agency and relocate it to its current home in East Nashville. She became the CEO of Bridges Serving the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in 2008, leading it through a merger, relocation, and financial struggles and helping the agency secure CNM’s coveted Salute to Excellence Memorial Foundation Leadership Award in 2011. Sallie holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and a master’s in public relations and advertising from the University of Alabama. She was named one of The Tennessean’s Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders, was a member of Leadership Nashville class of 2004, and is a Rotarian. Sallie recently took the post of chief development officer at The Next Door, an addiction treatment center for women, to create the agency’s fundraising program.
