Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements:



·         Provide supportive counseling and crisis intervention with Outreach Clients

·         Conduct Outreach Program intakes

·         Provide outreach to current and former clients as requested

o   Safety planning

o   Case plan

o   Assistance with job search

o   Assistance with housing search

o   Liaison between client and community resources

o   Deliver necessities (food, diapers, hygiene products, etc.)

·         Network with other social service agencies

·         Work with Legal Aid, law enforcement officials, and other community agencies to promote awareness and safety within Williamson County

·         Provide professional and timely response to the request for assistance from the legal system by referring clients to Court Advocate

·         Develop community awareness and confidence in our services

Spanish-Speaking Services

·         Provide weekly case management with Spanish-speaking shelter residents

·         Assist Spanish-speaking clients on the hotline and work with other Bridges employees to provide services to Spanish-speaking clients

·         Oversee and facilitate Spanish-speaking support group

o   Conduct intakes for Spanish-speaking support group

o   Develop and maintain curriculum

o   Facilitate group each week

Support Group

·         Conduct Intakes/Screen for DV support group

·         Inform attendees of women’s support group of current events, trainings, classes

·         Facilitate coverage for children’s support group advocate

·         Coordinate with and supervise support group facilitators

General/Shelter Responsibilities

·         Answer the crisis line

·         Complete shelter intakes/exits when residential managers are unavailable

·         Provide timely and appropriate response to crisis intervention requests

·         Maintain client, staff, and shelter confidentiality

·         Assist in the security and maintenance of facility

·         Maintain accurate timely documentation

·         Provide transportation as needed

·         Assist with donations as needed

·         Work with volunteers as needed

·         All other duties as needed



·         Bachelor degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience

·         Sensitive to the needs of battered women and children

·         Able to relate to the needs of people of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and lifestyles

·         Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking)

·         Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to interact in a positive manner with program participants and staff addressing behaviors through creative problem solving

·         Reliable Transportation

·         Valid Drivers License

·         Automobile Insurance

·         Criminal Background Check

·         Computer Literate

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

·         Flexibility

·         Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds
