Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements:

JOB SUMMARY

 

The PCS Recovery Services Coordinator will be responsible for member development and training in food service and environmental duties. This position will be responsible for ensuring day to day oversight of kitchen and building cleanliness. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

1.       Oversees all Culinary and Environmental Services

a.       Leads members in providing a daily lunch for members and staff and operating the snack room

b.       Leads the members in ensuring the building and grounds meet quality standards

c.       Ensures that the kitchen, pantry and environmental areas are neatly organized. 

d.       Oversees special luncheons

e.       Orders all food and environmental supplies needed, staying within all budgetary guidelines. 

f.        Ensures general maintenance tasks are completed. 

g.       Ensures both kitchen and building meet licensure standards.

h.       Acts as main contact for repairmen and contracted service providers.

i.         Plans and executes the PCS garden with member participation.

 

2.       Trains Members in Culinary and Environmental Services

a.       Engages and trains members in lunch activities, including preparation, serving and clean-up. 

b.       Facilitates 1:1 training and small groups to teach and demonstrate culinary and environmental tasks. 

c.       Provides encouragement and feedback to members in a strengths-based approach.

    3.  Responsible for documenting and Communicating member progress

a.       Writes group notes daily, including individual addendums where appropriate. 

b.       Records any incidents in accordance with policy

c.       Communicates thoroughly with the rest of the team regarding members strengths and opportunities for growth.  Participates as a member of the team discussing member’s progress towards Recovery Goals.

d.       Participates in weekly Clubhouse meeting

 

4.  Values Cultural competence and diversity

a.       Collaborates with staff, members and the community to gain understanding of others who have diverse opinions, abilities, values, beliefs, perspectives and ethnic or cultural backgrounds.

b.       Takes deliberate steps to increase cultural competency by attending trainings, events, discussions, workshops, etc.

5.  Additional job Duties

a)       Works with members and other staff to decorate the building for holidays and events

b)      Attends all required meetings

c)       Participates on agency-wide committees

d)      Works on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day as scheduled

e)      Completes all trainings as required

f)        While not responsible to set up transportation for the members, assists member with any glitches in transportation should they arrive.

g)       Completes all required trainings.

h)      Maintains confidentiality and works in a professional manner.

i)        Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  

1.       Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology or related field and

2.       Relevant experience that meets skill set, needed for the position

3.       Must be insurable

5.       Ability to meet deadlines

6.       Ability to use computer systems

7.       Ability to relate well with others

8.      Ability to work in a professional and ethical manner  

9.      Must have a valid drivers’ license

10.  Must be able to show proof of personal automobile insurance.

11.  Must be insurable under Park Center's automobile insurance.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

While performing the duties of this job, staff members are in an office-type environment and a commercial kitchen environment. They may be outside and may be on outings in the community with the members of the program.

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with members and staff. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, and sitting at a desk.

 

Must be able to stand, walk and sit regularly and routinely.
