Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements:

Development and Fundraising Manager


The Development and Fundraising Manager position is a 30 - 35 hours per week, nonexempt position. The ideal candidate for this job has a solid working experience with nonprofit fundraising and development, generating fundraising and program reports, creating mailing lists, conducting research on potential funders, assisting with grants, managing fundraising event details, managing donor databases and communication, creating monthly newsletters, and maintaining social media efforts for the organization. 


Ideally, the candidate will have at least two years' fundraising/development experience and a related college degree. This candidate will have the ability to work well under pressure, possess strong organizational skills, and be detail oriented. The ability to work well with donors, volunteers, and staff in a motivating, respectful, and encouraging way is imperative. 


Duties include:

·     Maintain accurate and up-to-date foundation, corporate, and individual donor files and donor prospect records and maintain a record of donor communications

·     Research potential partners, funders, sponsors, and grant opportunities

·     Create and provide relevant reports for grant reporting and management information tracking, and prepare mailing lists

·     Manage donor communications

·     Manage input, processing, and acknowledgment of auction donations

·     Plan alongside event committees and perform any necessary tasks from conception to event execution 

·     Assist with grant preparation

·     Produce analytical, financial, and statistical reports to track fundraising effectiveness

·     Work regularly in planning meetings with Executive Director and committee members 

·     Assist with reconciling CRM database on a monthly and annual basis

·     Manage data entry and overall integrity of the database; maintain quality control of donor data entry

·     Stay up-to-date with CRM developments and best practices; serve as primary staff liaison with CRM

·     Develop/manage monthly newsletter

·     Manage social media across all organization platforms

·     Serve occasionally as representative for exhibits and community nonprofit (booth) events 



·     A commitment to Meals 4 Health and Healing mission and operating principles

·     A minimum of two years of fundraising experience

·     Awareness and practice of sound fundraising principles

·     Experience with Fundly CRM or other nonprofit donor database

·     Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook

·     Familiarity with email marketing platforms

·     Knowledge of operating standard office equipment

·     Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

·     Strong organizational skills

·     Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills

·     Ability to work well in a team

·     Ability to communicate warmly and clearly

·     Self awareness

·     Ability and desire to be in a work environment that values working as a team, relationships, and giving and receiving honest feedback

·     Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed

·     Bachelor’s Degree preferred
