Morning Star Sanctuary, a biblically-based organization that exists to provide refuge for victims of domestic violence and their children consistent with AGAPE’s Mission and Statement of faith, is now hiring for the following position:
Position Title: Service Coordinator
Reports to: Residential Program Manager
Purpose: To assist in the daily coordination of program services for AGAPE’s residential domestic violence shelter and court advocacy programs. The Service Coordinator position serves as a key role of the administrative and residential team. The Service Coordinator will assist with select administrative/operational activities, as well as the provision of advocacy, support, crisis intervention, safety planning, and follow-up services to survivors of domestic violence and their families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative: Makes operational purchases for the residential emergency shelter and court advocacy programs. Serves as a point of contact for program vendors, including maintenance technicians, lawncare, pest control, technology services, security technicians, and cleaning company services. Performs other administrative tasks: answers domestic violence program’s business line, coordinates volunteer events/services, stocks office supplies, tracks receipts, receives and distributes program mail, and coordinates delivery of in-kind donations.
Direct Services: Provides advocacy, safety planning, crisis intervention, and community resources to survivors of domestic violence and their families. Provides information, linkage, and referral with service providers. Attends trauma-informed trainings and/or staff meetings provided monthly (required to attend six trainings/meetings per year).
Personnel Management: Recruits and responds to volunteer inquiries. Participates in the interviewing and onboarding process of new residential and court advocacy program staff and volunteers. Coordinates scheduling for the court advocacy program. Assists in personnel and volunteer file management.
Must be a competent professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, maintain confidentiality, ability to take initiative, conflict management, culturally sensitive, team focused and collaborative, and ability to clearly/objectively document information.
- BA/BS in human service field or equivalent training and work experience
- One year of administrative experience
- Experience in crisis intervention preferred
- Team player with strong decision-making skills
- Analytical with problem-solving ability
- Proficient in MS Office
