Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements:

Director of Human Resources

       Park Center is a nonprofit, community-based organization serving Nashville since 1984. Our mission is to empower people who have mental illness and substance use disorders to live and work in their communities.


       We are seeking a full time Human Resources Director who will report to the President/CEO.

Responsibilities include:

 ·         Interviewing and reviewing broker agencies to ensure Park Center has the best services available for medical, dental, vision, life, and 403b benefits.

 ·         Providing support to managers and staff as it relates to employee relations and Human Resources matters, assisting in conflict resolution between supervisors and staff, investigating claims of harassment of any kind and offering advice and resolution.

 ·         Ensuring timely posting of all job openings, both internally and externally assisting supervisors with the interview process; and ensuring that all prospective candidates have the appropriate pre-hire screenings within the appropriate timeframes.

 ·         Annually reviewing Human Resources policies, procedures and practices with the Human Resources Committee; and ensuring accuracy of policies and making recommendations for improvement.  Communicating changes in personnel policies and procedures to staff, and ensuring proper compliance.

 ·         Supervising the payroll process that is completed by the Administrative Assistant.

 ·         Coordinating new hire orientation, coordinating benefits during open enrollment periods, distributing materials and conducting enrollment meetings.

 ·         Ensuring that staff has completed all necessary paperwork and ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines.

 ·          Acting as a liaison between employee and all insurance carriers, should a problem arise.

 ·         Ensuring compliance with applicable Human Resources laws. 

     The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development or a related field and have a minimum of three years’ experience in Human Resources at the generalist level.  One year’s supervisory experience and PHR preferred.
